Frequently Asked Questions
These are a few of the questions asked by potential new clients. We also have a FAQ page where more questions are answered, and where you can submit your own question.
When can we switch to using your services?
We work with new clients to co-ordinate an effective time to change payroll providers. With permission from the new client, we can also liaise with the existing payroll provider to help facilitate a smooth transfer. There is no need to wait until the start of the tax year (April) to change providers.
Depending on the payroll software used by the existing provider, we may be able to receive all the existing payroll data electronically and upload this to our system.
What pay frequencies can you process?
Most of the wages we calculate are on a monthly basis. We can also process weekly, fortnightly, four weekly (lunar), quarterly and even annually. We will work with the client for what best suits their requirements.
Where the client want multiple pay frequencies, then we can handle this too. For example, it could be that the employer wants a weekly payroll for the casual staff, a monthly payroll for the permanent staff and annual calculations for the Director(s). We can work with the client to ensure we meet their requirements.
Do I need to register with HMRC?
If you are a new employer (for example, a new business engaging their first employee), then you will need to register with HMRC as a new employer. This is a simple process and can be done online at: www.gov.uk/register-employer
What are the current Minimum Wage rates?
There are a series of different National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage (NLW) rates. The current rates, and agreed changes, are available at: www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-rates
